CANARY CAFÉ CELEBRATES THE SEASON OF POMEGRANATES
WITH SIGNATURE SPECIAL AND INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO

Chef Gorji prepares four-of-a-kind pomegranate specials
Tuesday-Thursday for $30

DALLAS – (September 5, 2007) – Canary Cafe chef-owner Mansour Gorji celebrates the season of pomegranates with a four-of-a-kind signature Mediterranean menu for $30 (alcohol not included) available Tuesday – Thursday, starting September 18. Chef Gorji personally prepares each menu item in his newly appointed upscale cafe. His award-winning Mediterranean fare features many dishes that incorporate his signature ingredient – the pomegranate. On his “Cooking with Pomegranates” video, available at Canary Café, he shares techniques and recipes of his own favorite pomegranate-laden dishes.

Canary’s four-of-a-kind signature special includes an appetizer of Bulgarian feta and fresh pomegranates with grilled pita, a spring mix salad, choice of entrée featuring grilled quail or pork chop with pomegranate glaze followed by baklava with fresh pomegranates. Canary Café’s Mediterranean fare includes menu items such as oceanos, veal tonnato, beef or salmon anar, trout lemon, pan seared catfish, escargot in pomodoro, gorgonzola & mushroom and his winning rib eye steak with its own Mediterranean twist.

“With the first signs of pomegranate season upon us, my instructional video allows viewers to become familiar with this versatile fruit and its attributes in cooking first-hand. I believe gourmet food starts with fresh ingredients, simple preparation and seasoning that allows the natural taste of the food be the star” said Mansour Gorji, chef-owner of Canary Cafe.

Chef Gorji’s love of pomegranates dates back to his childhood days, and later as he traveled the world as an engineer, learning the local culinary arts and innovative uses of this versatile fruit. For guests wanting to take a little Mediterranean home with them, Chef Gorji has his own product line in Gorji Gourmet, which includes his pomegranate champagne vinaigrette as well as his pomodoro sauces and steak primer available for purchase at Canary Cafe, five area Whole Foods Markets and www.gorjigourmet.com

For two consecutive years, he received first place in the Texas Steak Cook-Off (2005, 2004), for his prime rib eye, which was seasoned with his Gorji Gourmet steak primer.  His culinary creations have earned rave reviews from The Dallas Morning News, Texas Monthly, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Dallas Business Journal.
