CANARY CAFÉ CELEBRATES 4th ANNIVERSARY
WITH PERSONAL TOUCH

Restaurant’s Redesigned Interior Mirrors Fresh, Innovative Mediterranean Fare

DALLAS – (July 8, 2007) – Canary Cafe chef-owner Mansour Gorji celebrates four years in Addison with a special four-course Mediterranean menu for $35 (alcohol not included) available Tuesday – Thursday through August 16, 2007. Chef Gorji personally prepares each menu item five nights a week in his newly appointed upscale cafe. His award-winning Mediterranean fare features many dishes that incorporate his signature ingredient – the pomegranate.

Canary’s four-course anniversary menu includes an appetizer of hummus & dolmas with grilled pita, a peach & pomegranate salad, choice of entrée featuring pan-seared tilapia over yogurt and kalamata olives with grilled vegetables or lamb T-bone with Tabouleh and Tzatziki followed by his four-berry sorbet. Canary Café’s Mediterranean fare includes menu items such as oceanos, veal tonnato, beef or salmon anar, trout lemon, pan seared catfish, escargot in pomodoro, gorgonzola & mushroom and his winning rib eye steak with its own Mediterranean twist.

“‘Let Me Cook for You Tonight’ means I personally prepare each meal per order, striving to create an enjoyable experience for each guest.” said Chef Mansour Gorji. “I believe gourmet food starts with fresh ingredients, simple preparation and seasoning that allows the natural taste of the food be the star.”

For guests wanting to take a little Mediterranean home with them, Chef Gorji has his own product line in Gorji Gourmet, which includes his award-winning sauces and primers available for purchase at Canary Cafe, five area Whole Foods Markets and www.gorjigourmet.com. For two consecutive years, he received first place in the Texas Steak Cook-Off (2005, 2004), for his prime rib eye, which was seasoned with his Gorji Gourmet steak primer.  His culinary creations have earned rave reviews from The Dallas Morning News, Texas Monthly, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Dallas Business Journal.

Chef Gorji’s innovative use of pomegranates dates back to his early years as he traveled the world as an engineer, learning the local culinary arts. He combines ideas from Greece, Italy, the Middle East and North Africa to create his award-winning dishes at Canary Cafe.  Prior to opening Canary Café in Addison, Chef Gorji was a partner in two (2) restaurants in Austin, Texas, before coming to North Dallas to open Francesca. With more than 19 years of culinary experience, he now calls Texas home.
