Canary’s five-course anniversary menu includes an appetizer of escargot in pomodoro, gorgonzola and mushroom, choice of entrée featuring grilled quail or pan-seared tilapia over tabbouleh, a fresh peach & pomegranate salad followed by Bulgarian feta sprinkled with pomegranate and ending with café glacé, a double shot of espresso with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate. Canary Café’s Mediterranean fare includes menu items such as oceanos, veal tonnato, beef or salmon anar, trout lemon, pan seared catfish, his winning rib eye steak with its own Mediterranean twist as well as fresh pan seared Portuguese sardines offered as a special when available. “I am happy provide a Mediterranean-derived five-course meal to celebrate our 5th anniversary complete with the salad course following the entree.” said Chef/Owner Mansour Gorji. “I am equally thrilled to debut my new Gorji Gourmet product hummus this month. This fresh and flavorful hummus is a natural extension of my other sauces and primer. The fact that Gorji Gourmet hummus is sold in small glass jars that are recyclable is an added bonus for consumers.” Canary Cafe specializes in Mediterranean cuisine using fresh ingredients and simple techniques. For guests wanting to take a little Mediterranean home with them, Chef Gorji has his own product line in Gorji Gourmet, which includes his award-winning sauces and primers and now hummus available for purchase at Canary Cafe, area Whole Food Markets® and www.gorjigourmet.com.
