Regional Mediterranean, Steak & Seafood in Addison
Chef Gorji competed against some of the best chefs in Texas in The Texas Steak Cookoff. He is now the back to back champion, winning the best steak in Texas for the second year in a row shusing those who couldn’t believe a chef specializing in Mediterranean fare could beat some of the best steak chefs around. Chef Gorji continues to expand his acclaimed seafood creations. His "Catfish Goes Mediterranean" recipe was published in Texas Monthly. It has been said that he has made this humble fish a delicacy. The Tilapia Cioppino is also always in demand with customers often calling and reserving it for the evening. The fresh pan seared Portuguese Sardines (when available) have become favorites.
The term Mediterranean encompasses cuisine that you might find in a Greek Restaurant, Lebanese Restaurant, Italian Restaurant, French Restaurant, Spanish Restaurant, North African Restaurant, Israeli Restaurant and Mid Eastern Restaurant. Canary's specialties include unique escargot in pomodoro sauce with gorgonzola, spicy hummus, pillow-soft gnocchi, veal lle ton, chicken, trout lemon and beef and salmon anar (made with pomegranates). Chef Gorji is a longtime fan of pomegranates, and he uses them in many tasty concoctions, from light desserts to his signature summer drink — Champome.
